Schönbrunn, Vienna

It's Tuesday again and time for "Our wonderful world on Tuesday"!

Today I am showing you a wonderful place in Vienna:

This card shows an alley in the Schönbrunner Schloßpark, the park surrounding Schönbrunn Castle in Vienna.  It is a huge area used for recreation, where you can have a walk or jog. Elderly people like to stroll around there and sit on one of the many park benches. Kids love to go there too as they can ride their tricycles or bakes and of course there is also the Vienna zoo on the park grounds.

What I love most about it is that the park is right in the city and easy to reach with public transportation. So when you feel the need to escape the city, just take line U4 and step into this little paradise.

Sunday stamps - this week with "anything you want"

Our wonderful world on Tuesday!

For this week, I chose two postcards from last year's summer vacation to the US.

They show Sequoia Trees, which are - as you can see on the pictures - huuuuuge! It was an amazing experience to stand in a forest full of those giants! 

The second card shows you how teeny tiny a human being is compared to these trees! If you ever visit Yosemite National Park, make sure to visit the area where the Sequoias grow (Mariposa Grove)!

Finally!

So here is finally the card I sent myself from our honeymoon :) I have posted all the cards on the same day. The first card arrived after about one and a half weeks in Taiwan, later the cards arrived in Germany and Poland. Now they have finally reached Austria. Still travelling are the cards to Finland, Portugal, Belgium, Montenegro and the Netherlands. People in those countries need some patience!

Sunday stamps #58

This week, it's all about pets: dogs, cats and other pets on stamps!

I am not a cat person at all, but as I have featured dogs on a "everything you want" Sunday, I looked through my stamps and found the animal rescue stamps with cats - well, and one dog! I also have the others from the other dogs from this series. Unfortunately I have neither the garden nor the time to adopt a dog, so I sometimes borrow my mom's if I am in need of some canine love :)

So I decided to show you a card with animal and nature views of the Austrian Alps. I love hiking, but I am always a little afraid of the cows grazing there - silly me :)

This card shows Chiufen, a city in Northern Taiwan. Two movies were shot there: One was a Taiwanese movie about the rise and fall Jiufen; the second one was a Japanese animation called "Spirited Away".

Wow, Sunday again. Where has the time gone? So, time for Sunday stamps. This week's theme is anything you want, so I decided to show the Finnish vegetable stamps. 

This is how the stamp looks naked - without all the eyes, hats, hands, noses, beards you can add.
