Swap
This card from a private swap [with janbonivic] shows the Ati-Atihan Festival. It is a feast held annually in January in honor of the Infant Jesus, concluding on the third Sunday, in the island and town of Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines. The festival consists of tribal dance, music, accompanied by indigenous costumes and weapons, and parade along the street. Christians, and non-Christians observe this day with religious processions (text from wikipedia).

I am invited to three weddings this year, so I thought this bröllop card is a good choice to start this year's wedding season for me! This was the most touching wedding ceremony I have ever seen on tv so far and I love to watch snippets of the ceremony on youtube or listen to the song. And of course I always shed a tear or two :)

Switzerland
This card was sent by seemeitli for the April 2011 RR. It shows the Bundeshaus (Federal Palace of Switzerland) in Bern, decorated with projected images of the Swiss Canton's coats of arms. You can google for more pictures of the Bundeshaus, decorated for many events - I found pics with a winter theme, and of course in red/white for the Swiss National Day. I hope that there are more cards with the decorated Bundeshaus on them, I would love to receive them as well :)

Just a few weeks ago, there was another volcano outbreak in South America. And after last year's Eja...whatever..volcano outbreak in Iceland, volcanoes are never far from our minds.
